I thought this post was an excellent source of information.  If you're going to start a business, I recommend you have excellent credit.  It will come in handy in a multitude of situations.

Since most of us left our jobs to start our own business, I absolutely loved the myth: "The best way to keep your job is to work hard" - "When something is not yours to begin with, how can you hope to keep posession of it?"  In this day and age of outsourcing, this is completely true!  I also live by the phrase, don't work hard, work smart.  Most good companies with a good boss, will recognize when employees work hard or smart and make sure they retain them.  Makes you wonder why the company I worked for last, didn't try to retain me.
